Typical Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy

Typical Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy

This exhibit displays the anterior view of the abdomen undergoing a typical laparoscopic cholecystectomy procedure to remove the gallbladder. The first step in this procedure is to insert the laparoscopic instruments through the abdominal wall. Once the instruments are inserted, clips are placed on the cystic duct and cystic artery. The cystic duct and artery are then transected in order to remove the gallbladder.
