Total Hip Replacement

An animation depicting a total hip replacement of the right hip due to avascular necrosis of the hip and bone loss at the posterior acetabular rim. This procedure encompasses making an incision at the hip and using retractors to expose the muscles that will be divided to reveal the femur. The femoral head is then removed, and reaming of the acetabulum and femoral canal occurs. The prosthetic components are then placed into the acetabulum and femur with screws and the incline of the hip is measured.
