This animation shows a robotic hysterectomy through the use of the DaVinci surgical robot. This procedure involves creating an incision and insufflating the abdomen. Five ports are then placed under laparoscopic guidance. The laparoscopic view of the uterus highlights the rounds ligaments, fallopian tubes, ovaries, and ovarian arteries. The left round ligament is opened to gain access to the retroperitoneal space and litigation of the right tube, utero-ovarian ligament, and uterine arteries occurs. Lastly, circumferential amputation of the uterus off the vagina is performed and the uterus is removed.
