Right Nephrectomy and Nephroureteral Catheter Placement

An animation depicting the anterior view of a right nephrectomy and nephroureteral catheter placement. Anatomy in this view includes the right kidney with a calculus, calyx, renal pelvis, ureters, bladder, and urethra. In this procedure, a catheter is inserted into the inferior pole of the right kidney and into the ureter. A cystoscope is then inserted into the bladder and up into the renal pelvis. Using a nephroscope inserted into the posterior pole of the kidney, the calculus is fragmented and removed.
