Progression of Cerebral Aneurysm

This custom courtroom animation shows blood flows up through the carotid arteries and vertebral arteries into the cerebral arteries throughout the brain. Impulses from the left side of the tongue flow to the brainstem via the left facial nerve, left glossopharyngeal nerve and left vagus nerve and continue on through the brain until they reach the gustatory cortex within the lateral sulcus and insula region. Leaking aneurysm and rupture of a branch of the left middle cerebral artery. Surgical procedure performed to put coils in the aneurysm to prevent further bleeding. Vasospasms of the left middle cerebral artery branches. Permanent brain damage.
