PowerPort Venous Access Port with Fibrin Clot Formation

PowerPort Venous Access Port with Fibrin Clot Formation

This illustration shows the anterior and enlarged views of a powerport venous access port with fibrin clot formation. The catheter connected to the double lumen powerport venous access port is inserted through the superior vena cava in order to deliver medication to the right atrium of the heart. A fibrin sheath is then formed around the tip of the catheter and medication escapes around the upper aspect of the sheath to flow down into the heart.
