Group B Strep Sepsis in a Fetus

3d custom medical animation portraying damage to the fetus caused by the mother's vaginal infection that crosses over into the fetal membranes. Bacteria cross over the fetal membranes and invade the amniotic fluid surrounding the fetus well before any signs of symptoms of infection develop. Bacteria grow and multiply within the bloodstream of the fetus, advancing the infection. Eventually bacteria outnumber the white blood cells. Sepsis occurs: Bacteria proliferate and invade the key organs, such as the lungs, liver, kidneys and brain.
