Free Flap Reconstruction of the Right Breast

This exhibit shows the free flap reconstruction procedure of the right breast. The first step in this procedure shows the initial incisions in the lower abdomen and right breast. The next step displays a transected piece of skin, muscle, and vasculature being detached as a graft and brought up to the right breast incision. The third step shows a window created by cutting through the costal cartilage at the 4th rib. The fourth step shows an artery and vein from the right breast region brought through the window. The next step displays the local vasculature connected to the vasculature of the flap. Lastly, the flap is used to reconstruct the breast.
