Flexor Carpi Radialis Transposition

Flexor Carpi Radialis Transposition

A medical exhibit depicting the palmar view of the hand and wrist undergoing a flexor carpi radialis transposition. In this procedure, an incision is created over the CMC joint in order to expose and remove the trapezium bone. Another incision is created to reveal, elevate, and transect the FCR tendon. Next, a tunnel is reamed through the base of the 1st metacarpal. The transected FCR is then passed through this tunnel and secured using a biotenodesis screw.
