Exploration and Grafting of the Left Median Nerve

Exploration and Grafting of the Left Median Nerve

This medical exhibit shows the anterior view of the forearm undergoing an exploration and grafting of the left median nerve following a traumatic injury. In this procedure, an electrode is placed in the abductor pollicis brevis muscle in the thumb and the median nerve fascicles are resected proximally and distally. The median nerve is then repaired using a sural nerve graft and sealed together using fibrin glue.
