Electrodessication and Curettage (ED&C) of Basal Cell Carcinoma

This courtroom animation shows a biopsy performed by debulking the tumor with a dermablade. The remaining tumor is scraped off with a curette. Electrodessication is then used to destroy any remaining cancer cells by heating them past the temperature at which they can survive. This process is repeated two additional times to ensure all cancer cells have been removed.
