Cholecytectomy

Cholecytectomy

This exhibits displays the result of a cholecystectomy in which the inflamed gallbladder is removed and a clip is placed on the biliary tree. The biliary tree is a system of ducts that directs secretions from the surrounding organs (liver, pancreas, and gallbladder) to the duodenum. The ducts in this image include the common bile, right hepatic, left hepatic, and common hepatic ducts.
